What does it mean to come full circle? Coming full circle is a phrase that describes the completion of a cycle or journey that ultimately returns someone to their starting point. It represents a sense of closure, of having achieved an important goal or reached an endpoint.
In the context of Pilates, coming full circle could mean arriving at a level of mastery in a particular exercise or series of exercises. It could also mean achieving a deeper understanding of the principles and philosophy that underpin the practice. This idea of coming full circle can apply to many aspects of our lives. It may mean returning to a place we started from, either literally or figuratively, but with a newfound perspective or appreciation. It may also describe the process of overcoming obstacles or challenges to ultimately achieve success.
Whatever the context, coming full circle is a powerful and meaningful concept. It reminds us of the cyclical nature of life, and the importance of taking stock of our experiences as we move through each new phase. By reflecting on our past, we can gain a greater sense of purpose and direction as we move forward on our journey.
BELOW ARE THE THREE MAIN MODALITIES WE USE TO HELP YOU COME FULL CIRCLE:
CLASSICAL PILATES
Classical Pilates is a type of Pilates that focuses on the original teachings and principles of Joseph Pilates. It is in the forefront and the core of what we teach. These series of exercises and it’s principles will ripple through the way you move and the way you work out. You will find and feel real deep core strength.
MOBILITY TRAINING
Mobility training is becoming increasingly popular in the fitness world as individuals recognize its importance in overall health and wellness. This type of training focuses on movements that improve range of motion and flexibility while also targeting joint stability and strengthening surrounding muscles.
FUNCTIONAL TRAINING
Functional training has become a buzzword in the fitness industry lately. This training is a type of workout that emphasizes patterns that mimic the natural movements of the body, such as squatting, lifting, pushing, and pulling. It uses compound movements to engage multiple joints and muscles at the same time.
“Patience and Persistence are vital qualities in the ultimate successful accomplishment of any worthwhile endeavor”
-Joseph Pilates
Body Awareness:
Understanding Your Physical Self
Body awareness is the knowledge of one's physical self - the recognition and understanding of the different parts and sensations of the body. At Full Circle Pilates, we believe that body awareness is fundamental to a successful movement practice. We specialize in teaching clients how to connect with their bodies on a deeper level, enhancing their self-awareness, flexibility, and strength.
Through our Full Circle Sessions, we help clients develop a greater understanding of their body's unique abilities and limitations. We create a safe and supportive space for them to identify areas of tension, imbalances, and areas that need attention. With this awareness, clients become more engaged in their movement practice and motivated to take charge of their physical health.
Our Privates and class structures use a variety of methods to foster body awareness among our clients. We use four main elements to help you achieve better alignment, proprioception, and a strong sense of center to increase your awareness.
Below are our 4 core elements we use to help connect the dots for you!
-
MOBILITY
Mobility Training is very important to include in your fitness regimen. Our goal is to increase capsular workspace to increase movement freedom and strength both lateraly and rotationally. The Full Circle Method utilizes FRC and Stick mobility to help clients gain more range of motion so they can move better!
-
STABILITY
In Movement, there’s always the mover and the stabilizer. We get injured when our bodies don’t recognize what muscles or body parts should be doing the stabilizing or the mobilizing. We put an emphasis in teaching body control in our workouts so you can learn how to control your movements for injury prevention.
-
STRENGTH
How do you really achieve true body strength? Even though strength could mean different to everyone, for any BODY TYPE it always starts in the center - your CORE. The Full Circle Workout helps you to connect to all your core muscles for optimal movement performance. Deep strength relies on your deep core muscles!
-
FLEXIBILITY
How we look at training flexibility is different in that we combine it with strength isometics. We find the difference between your active and passive ranges and try to close the gap between them to help train the nervous system. We concentrate on increasing your stretch tolerance for long lasting improvements.
“When in doubt about the next step to improve your client’s function, think about movements that stimulate the proprioceptors.”
-Gary Gray, The Gray Institute
OUR WHY.
“I started with a singular purpose of improved mobility and strength for long-distance sailboat racing. I’ve since become very conscious of using better movements in everyday life, taking better care of my 57-year old body so I can stay active and mobile without strain or pain.”
